Chicks & Hatching Eggs

RPT Background
The large, creamy to light brown eggs with speckles are laid by RPT's hens up to 100 times a year. Not year round, typically starting early Spring time. They are renowned for having active temperaments, being superb foragers, and being good flyers. The hens are good mothers and brood quickly. Compared to other turkey breeds, the males are typically less aggressive and frequently assist the females in raising the chicks. Being a rare heritage breed of domestic turkeys RPT's were initially sighted in Lake Worth, Florida, in the 1920s. There are those who think they came from the UK. Small farms all over the world raise Royal Palm Turkeys.
